Thinking about sending a kid to college?
Family to Family College Connection might help

WHAT IS FAMILY TO FAMILY COLLEGE CONNECTION? A PTO-sponsored, free resource to OPRF families who are applying to or contemplating college. Families who have been through the college process and have students at college are available to answer questions.

HOW DOES IT WORK? A list of mentor families is available in the counselor's office and on the PTO web site.
Mentor Family List by Family
Mentor Family List by School

WHO CAN USE IT? Any OPRF family can call any mentor family and ask questions. We encourage you to ask any questions no matter how basic. You can ask about the college process or about the particular college the mentor family’s student attends.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED? If you have sent a kid to college, you could help other families who are going through the college process. Volunteer to have your name on a list of mentor families who can answer questions about a particular college or about the process in general.

HOW DO I VOLUNTEER? Email Robin Soffer @robin soffer@yahoo.com

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW? The counselors are the experts in the college selection process providing informational sessions and expertise for our students. And clearly, if you have a specific question you should speak directly to the college admission office. But if you want a student’s perspective on life at a particular college or you need to talk with a parent who has lived through this process, call a mentor family.
